Job Board Redesign
OBJECTIVE
Optimize the job search and filter experience for unauthenticated users to improve top level business metrics: Job Views + Apply Rate.
GOALS
• Encourage visitors to search with a ‘What’ and ‘Where’ experience.
• Optimize filters per user feedback
• Help visitors search with Autocomplete and Suggestions.
Pain Points
Not finding Industry filter, many industries to scroll through
Remote filter confusing as users think Remote + In Office means Hybrid
Entry level experience not returning many results, experience groupings seem arbitrary
Filters take up large share of viewport, especially when subcategories and industries are selected
Not finding keyword search in UI, but when they do many seem to get more relevant results
No results counters so you don’t know how many results to expect or why you get so few results
Cannot select multiple job categories
Mobile search landing page confusing, users aren’t finding the keyword search or filters
Data Driven Decisions
Hypothesis
Job Search metrics are best when both the Keyword Search and Filters are used.
Ideation + Testing
Concept #1
‘What’ and ‘Where’ inputs plus all Job and Category filters present on landing.
Concept #2
Job Type, Location and Remote options are prioritized first with all filters located in a scrollable right-hand-rail.
Concept #3
‘Dream Job’, Location and Remote options prioritized with only the most popular filters on landing. Additional filters are hidden behind an All Filters button.
